Monkeypox Resources in Minnesota
For many members of the LGBTQ+ community, COVID-19 isn’t the only virus we’re worried about this year. 2022 has also become the year of Monkeypox spreading in and among communities of primarily men who have sex with men. Fortunately, there have been under 250 cases total in Minnesota, and there are some concrete steps that you can take to help minimize your risks as we celebrate the holidays and ring in a new year. Below we are passing along some helpful links from the Minnesota Department of Health to help you make this year’s yuletide safe, sexy, and gay.
Get vaccinated! Many primary health care providers have been provided with vaccines. In the Twin Cities region, the Red Door clinic regularly offers vaccinations. You can also use a free online tool to locate a Monkepox vaccine near you.
Educate yourself on how the virus is spread and how to minimize your risk of exposure. Again, our friends at the Minnesota Department of Health have put together a webpage that will help you get up to speed on the basics.
We at PFund wish everyone a happy and healthy holiday season and new year!
