Become a PFund community reviewer
PFund grants are by and for the LGBTQ+ community.
Community review process is at the heart of PFund’s grantmaking, ensuring that every funding decision is guided by community voices. Each year, groups of volunteers review applications and contribute to PFund’s grantmaking outcomes for LGBTQ+ individuals and organizations from across the Upper Midwest.
If you’re ready to give back, join us as a community reviewer!
How it works to be a PFund community reviewer
-
All community review panelists receive mandatory training in avoiding conflicts of interest and implicit biases, how PFund’s grant selection process works, and how to use Submittable to review and rank grant applications.
-
Once PFund selects reviewers and they have received their required training, panelists set up a Submittable account, read and rank all application materials, and meet virtually as a group to rank applicants and recommend to the PFund board who should receive funding. PFund staff assist reviewers at all stages of the process.
-
PFund grant reviewers typically dedicate 8 to 10 hours of time to serving as a panelist. Panelists usually spend four hours in virtual training and grant reviewer meetings, plus four to six hours reading and ranking grant applications in Submittable.
Please note: you must be 18 years or older to be a community reviewer with PFund.
