Minneapolis, March 21, 2024–PFund Foundation today announces the receipt of three new grants backed with funds from the TRANSCEND Campaign. Originally launched a year ago, PFund’s TRANSCEND Campaign is a peer-to-peer fundraising initiative that supports transgender individuals and families in securing appropriate and affirming medical care, accessing safe learning environments, and sponsoring queer- and trans-focused events across the Upper Midwest.
The three newest TRANSCEND grants are as follows:
TIGERRS |Minnesota | $5,000
TIGERRS provides programs and resources that build solidarity and safety among transgender, intersex, and gender-expansive Minnesotans. Grant funding will be used to support the group’s three key programmatic areas: youth programs, intersex services, and intergenerational events.
Community Uplift Program | North Dakota | $5,000
Community Uplift Program provides support, resources, and assistance related to issues of mental health, recovery, and housing stability. TRANSCEND grant funds will be used to expand Community Uplift Program’s outreach to members of the LGBTQ+ community who are experiencing barriers to accessing necessary social services.
United Action for Youth | Iowa | $5,000
United Action for Youth is a nonprofit organization that has supported youth and families in Johnson County and the surrounding region since 1970. The organization is dedicated to nurturing the potential for all youth to create, grow, and succeed. The group also operates a LGBTQ-focused program that works with queer youth in middle and high school. TRANSCEND grant funds will be used to help UAY provide a series of day camps throughout summer 2024.
The 2024 TRANSCEND Campaign is now accepting donations as well as seeking members of the LGBTQ+ and allied communities to serve as peer fundraisers in support of the campaign. To learn more or donate, please visit www.pfundfoundation.org/TRANSCEND.
