Revitalization

Dear Friends of PFund,

As you have likely heard, an important and long standing institution in the Twin Cities community has closed its doors permanently. Last week, Rainbow Health Minnesota (formerly Minnesota AIDS Project, Rainbow Health Initiative, and Training to Serve) unexpectedly ended programming for thousands of Minnesotans living with HIV/AIDS and members of the LGBTQ+ community. We are distressed over the impact on dozens of affected staff members as well as the clients they served.

Local LGBTQ+ and HIV/AIDS service organizations immediately stepped forward to support the transition of these vital services with compassion and strength. I have been so impressed by the collaboration and mutual support demonstrated these past few days. Our queer and trans communities are so much stronger when we are in relationship to each other.

As the only LGBTQ+ community foundation serving the Twin Cities and Minnesota, PFund Foundation understands its duty is to galvanize resources for the community. This is why we are launching the Revitalization Campaign to immediately support these life-saving, life-affirming services.

Donations to the Revitalization Campaign will allow several organizations, namely the Aliveness Project and Family Tree Clinic, to begin the process of serving former clients of Rainbow Health. We hope to raise $25,000 from individuals while we connect with area foundations to provide support beyond this goal.

We encourage you to directly support the organizations named above or others inheriting these services, not just us! Our fund is intended to complement their efforts and expand our collective response.

You can also share our social posts with your friends and family to encourage additional support.

Now, we are focused on ensuring a thoughtful strategy to carry forward this important work and support our communities.

In community,

Aaron Zimmerman
