Founded in 2001, the Des Moines Gay Men’s Chorus (DMGMC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization dedicated to creating inclusive communities, championing hope, love and our common humanity through singing music that matters. Over the past 25 years, DMGMC has grown from a small volunteer ensemble, averaging around 20 cis-gendered gay men, to a more inclusive organization now averaging 80-90 singers of all genders and identities of the LGBTQ+ community, including allies. We’ve become a multi-ensemble organization serving hundreds of singers, audience members, and community partners each year across Central Iowa.
