CASTOR MN is a fiscally sponsored nonprofit founded in 2023, emerging from the community energy and activism of the Queermunity Resource Center in Uptown Minneapolis. The organization was created by a collective of passionate, diverse community members to address systemic gaps in LGBTQ+ programming- particularly services designed, led, and informed by the people most impacted, including trans, nonbinary, bi+, disabled, and BIPOC community members. Since its founding, CASTOR MN has focused on establishing strong operational foundations while piloting community-driven programs that address unmet needs related to connection, wellness, and resilience. In 2026, CASTOR MN will assume leadership of key community programs previously offered by Queermunity’s Resilience Program due to the loss of federal pass-through funding, ensuring continuity and expansion of critical LGBTQ+ spaces and supports.
