An immersive, family-friendly celebration of LGBTQ+ artistry, storytelling, and community that will take place on October 9, 2026, at the historic Steyer Opera House in Decorah, Iowa, as part of Decorah Pride Week. Produced by queerPOPERA, the event brings together professional LGBTQ+ artists from across the Midwest and beyond to create a joyful, affirming cultural experience for audiences of all ages and identities while contributing to the revitalization of one of Northeast Iowa’s historic cultural landmarks. The evening features a dynamic blend of opera, musical theatre, visual art, dance, and spoken storytelling that celebrates the diversity of LGBTQ+ experiences while honoring opera’s long and often overlooked queer history.
