Prism Organizing Network was founded on January 20, 2025 (under the fiscal sponsorship of OutFront Minnesota) to build statewide, organized LGBTQ people-power in Minnesota, with a focus on communities outside the Twin Cities that are often under-resourced and underrepresented in LGBTQ advocacy. Prism emerged from the recognition that LGBTQ people live in every region of the state, and that durable change requires powerful organizing across geography, race, and lived experience. Since its launch, Prism has prioritized listening, leadership development, relationship-building, and strategic risk-taking for growth—the fundamental elements of community organizing—as the foundation of long-term impact.
