Founded in 1998, the Milwaukee LGBT Community Center was established to address health disparities, social isolation, and systemic inequities experienced by LGBTQ+ people in Milwaukee and southeastern Wisconsin. Rooted in decades of local LGBTQ+ organizing, the Center serves as a trusted community hub providing affirming mental health and wellness programming, peer support, basic needs assistance, and opportunities for connection and civic engagement. With a strong focus on transgender and gender non-conforming individuals, LGBTQ+ people of color, and those facing economic or social marginalization, the Center advances health equity while strengthening community resilience and vibrancy. Through inclusive services and community building initiatives, the Center fosters belonging, well-being, and long-term stability for individuals and families across the region.
