Kay T Waggoner is a licensed realtor in the Twin Cities and a member of the No Place Like Home team. A US Air Force veteran from the Gulf War, Kay is a supporter of LGBTQIA initiatives. Kay and her family, including wife, Rebecca, reside in Minneapolis.

Scott Cabalka, Vice President, Institutional Portfolio Manager, RBC Global Asset Management (U.S.), is responsible for client service coverage of the RBC Money Market Funds, local government investment pools, and other short fixed income solutions. Scott provides guidance on investment policy and implementation for the firm’s short mandates. In addition, he leads the communication with clients invested in RBC’s short fixed income strategies. Before joining RBC in 1993, Scott was an account executive at Merrill Lynch, where he focused on short strategies for institutional investors. He has specialized in short fixed income since he began working in the investment industry in 1980. Scott earned a BS and an MBA in Finance from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management.

Scott is a native of the Twin Cities and enjoys cycling, sailing, skiing and the performing arts.

Sarah is many things - a lesbian, wife, parent, daughter, leader, athlete, activist, businessperson, musician and writer, to name a few.

They have a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and an MBA, and 15+ years of experience as a recruiting leader and talent consultant. They currently work as an inclusion and diversity advocate within the digital and technology space at a Fortune 100 company in the Twin Cities.

Sarah joined the PFund Board of Directors in January 2021 with the specific intent to make a difference in the world through philanthropy. She strongly believes in PFund’s mission and the many people helping turn that mission into actions and outcomes, and is excited to play a role in helping PFund continue making a positive impact on the LGBTQ+ community.

Patricia Nelson

Patricia (Pat) Nelson has been lending her voice to make sure that all voices are heard. Through working with the Racial Equity Initiative of PFund (and later becoming a Fellow with the 2009-2010 REI Cohort), KFAI - Fresh Air Radio, Rainbow Health Initiative, Community Health Project (NY), Training for Change (PA); and having served on the Minneapolis Civil Rights Commission and the League of Minnesota Human Rights Commissions, she continues to reach wider still.

Pat is the owner/principal of NelsonWorks, LLC, a business that provides computer support for homes and small offices. She has also served as a health care and an academic administrator.

She is also experienced in consensus and team building, including facilitation with diverse populations. She is also currently serving on the Boards of, UCare and Telling Queer History.

Pat is also a licensed Amateur Radio person (aka a “ham”, KE0QXD), serving as an Area Director of OMIK (primarily for African American folks), and is a member of RARA (Queer Amateur Radio enthusiasts).

Linda grew up in a small town in Northeast Iowa, leaving there to attend the College of St. Catherine (now St. Catherine University) graduating with a BA in Social Work. Knowing she wanted to go further with her education, Linda graduated from Law School at the University of Minnesota.

Linda spent a decade doing litigation in private practice with a Minneapolis law firm. Looking to work in a more supportive and inclusive role, Linda spent the next 23 years working in the HealthPartners Law Department, practicing primarily in Employment Law.

During this time, she advised leaders at all levels of the organization, from executives, to supervisors and managers, on a variety of issues. Such as, FMLA, ADA, non-discrimination and wage and hour issues.

Linda also drafted and reviewed all manner of employment-related contracts including employment agreements, non-compete agreements, and severance documents to name a few.

Now retired, Linda likes to spend her free time reading, doing yard work, reading, relaxing with her wife and two dogs, and did she mention reading?

Chong Moua is a first-generation Hmong Queer refugee from Southeast Asia and resident of Minnesota for the past 12 years. They are passionate about community building, uplifting marginalized voices and co-creating new possibilities. Chong’s work experience spans from creative design, events productions, to public speaking and facilitation. Her journey with PFund Foundation started as an organizational grantee and later served as Interim Executive Director. Chong enjoys live music, art, gardening, sit-down comedy, and spending time with loved ones.

PFund Foundation is seeking engaged and thoughtful members of the community to join our Board of Directors. As the upper Midwest LGBTQ community foundation, it is critical to have diverse voices at the table guiding the mission and vision of PFund Foundation. The Board of Directors sets the path for true investment in our LGBTQ leaders, organizations, and communities.

We are actively recruiting for a January 2022 Board term.

The PFund Foundation Board of Directors appoints both Board Members and community members to sit on various committees that support the development of the foundation. These committees enable the Board to carryout thoughtful governance of the organization.

Overall, the members of committees contribute to the educational, management, legal, philanthropic, programmatic and financial skills needed to ensure long-term organizational stability and ensure year-to-year efficacy and dedication to the mission and vision of being a vital resource, catalyst and community builder for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, Two-Spirit and allied community members in the upper Midwest.
